Le Perchoir

If you love rooftop bars, as I do, this is one not to be missed. Back in August, in my first few weeks in Paris, my Parisienne friend took me here. Both of us, none the wiser of the fact that it hadn’t even officially opened, bumbled in and up to the 7th floor. Wow, I thought to myself, if this is what Paris has to offer on the bar front, I’m liking this!

This new rooftop bar located in the 11eme, it has 360 degree views of Paris’s skyline. The roof’s capacity is 110, and is a first come first serve basis, so I would recommend getting there before 17.30, after that you risk waiting in line, especially if you are with a group.

Finding it is part of the fun, it’s on a quiet street, with an unsuspecting entrance you could easily walk past.

I was worried now that the weather is a little chilly, that up on the 7th floor one might freeze to death. But I went yesterday and they’ve put up little tents with fairy lights and heaters making the experience still 100% fabulous. Now that we are fastly approaching Christmas, they’re serving mulled wine and other festive treats to tickle your fancy. They’ve got a good selection of wine and a mean selection of cocktails.

Le Perchoir has a chic and rustic feel to it. Lots of comfortable couches with loose, big cushions and large, low tables. It has a great warm atmosphere with lots of crazy plants potted and dotted around. The crowd at this place on opening was the uber-trendy. But now Le Perchoir has managed to create a place with the right amount of cool and chic combined with delicious food (I’ve heard there’s a restaurant downstairs) and good wine. Definitely the perfect place to chill with some friends on a crisp autumn evening.
